Vanilla Beach

The sunset beach south of town — known as Las Cabanas and Marimegmeg as often as Vanilla Beach.

A few kilometres south of the town proper, past Corong-Corong, this is the beach people go to for sunset rather than for swimming or boats. It carries three names depending on who is speaking: Vanilla Beach, Las Cabanas and Marimegmeg are the same stretch of sand, which is worth knowing when a driver or a sign uses one you were not expecting.

There is a run of beachfront places to eat and drink along it, busiest in the hour before the sun goes down.

Getting there

A short tricycle ride south of the town proper, beyond Corong-Corong.
