About this app

Everything on this site, in your pocket — plus what a web page cannot do: show where you are standing, measure the walk from where you are staying, keep a list of your own, and tell you when something changes.

• The map, with you on it

  Every published place on one map, and your own position against it. That is the question a printed map cannot answer, and it is the one you have standing at a junction.

• Sun, tide and weather

  Sunrise and sunset, the tide in Bacuit Bay through the day, the weather, and any advisory for today, on one screen.

• What’s on

  The calendar, day by day, with the highlights picked out. Save an event and, signed in, you are reminded the evening before and an hour before — and told if it moves or is called off.

• Saved places, and your own notes

  Star a place, group stars into lists, write a note against a dish or a price you were quoted. It lives on your phone and works without a signal; sign in, and it comes back on a new phone.

• The walk from where you are staying

  Name your hotel once — it is already in the guide — and each place shows the walk from there in minutes. When there is no honest answer, it shows nothing rather than a distance from somewhere you never mentioned.

• News, and a line to us

  News and advisories as they are posted, a public room to ask a question, and a private thread to tell us when something here is wrong.

The app and this site read one catalog, so a price corrected here is corrected there. What differs is what each can do with it.
